Be respectful to those around you

Directors know you are nervous. Thats OK! Everyone gets nervous when they audition.  Just breathe deep, focus and have fun.

Making the best of casting decisions:

Trust the directing team's judgment. The directing team is casting an ensemble, not just one or two "lead" roles. It is important  to understand the importance of working together as an ensemble- not as individual parts that seem less or more important than others.

Everyone's contribution is important and valued!

Performing

Show personality            Be confident           Sing out

Use the whole audition space, move around!

Use your eyes, think about the material you are singing. If you connect to what you are singing, directors can see that in your eyes

Become a character - become the person singing your song

If you are a dancer, feel free to add some movement to your audition

A strong confident introduction will get you off to a great start

General Don`ts

Don`t stand with your hands in your pockets

Don`t be upset if the audition panel stops you halfway though, that doesn`t mean you did anything wrong, they have a lot of people to see

Don`t show your disappointment if you think you didnt do your best. Be confident!

Don`t worry if somone else is singing the same song as you
