How do auditions work?

Students have 1-2 minutes to sing a prepared song for the directing team. The team is usually the director, assistant director, musical director and sometimes the choreographer. You have just enough time to come in to the room introduce yourself, say the song you will perform and to sing your song. It is a good idea to have a recording of the song you will sing such as a karaoke track. You should bring that in to the room with you on a CD, ipod/MP3 player or cell phone. Parents are asked to wait in the waiting room as auditions are not open to observation.

What do I need/ What do I have to do for my audition?

Please come with your completed audition form

Prepare a song that shows off your voice. Something that can show the directing team your best. You will  also be asked to  fill out an audition form but you could bring a resume that lets us know what experience you have, if you don`t have any experience, that`s OK!. You can bring picture of yourself or a picture will be taken for casting purposes. You will also need to prepare a reading. The reading does not need to be memorized but it should be practiced.  Examples of songs and readings can be found under the song suggestions and readings tabs.
